Dr. Jim Murdaugh, president of Tallahassee Community College, has announced that Al Moran, Vice President for Communications and Marketing, will retire on June 30.
“I want to thank Al for his eight years of service to the College,” said Murdaugh. “He has contributed tremendously to the success of TCC in that time and on behalf of the entire TCC family, we wish him a very happy retirement.”
Murdaugh also announced that Candice Grause, currently Chief of Staff, will add vice president to her title. Grause will oversee the Communications and Marketing office in addition to continuing her service as Chief of Staff. She will assume the role on May 1, allowing for a two-month overlap with VP Moran, ensuring a smooth transition.
“Having known Al’s retirement was on the horizon, I have had time to consider who would be ideally suited for the role,” said Murdaugh. “With Candice’s 12 years at the College, her experience from her prior role in the Communications office, and her track record of leadership as Chief of Staff, I am confident she will be able to strengthen our communications outreach efforts and elevate our brand.”
In her time at TCC, Grause has been responsible for several college-wide initiatives and programs, including coordination of the College’s shared governance committees and leadership groups. She also works closely with the President on external community and government relations efforts. In addition to being an alum of TCC, Grause earned a Bachelor of Arts in Editing, Writing and Media from Florida State University, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Central Florida.
