Tallahassee Community College is offering virtual Saturday workshops featuring design and coding programs powered by TCC’s Division of Workforce Development and Black Rocket, a national leader in tech-education. The weekly workshops are aimed at sparking the creativity of kids ages 8-14 through a host of topics ranging from coding, game design, eSports, virtual reality, YouTube content creator and more.
“We’re so excited to launch one of the most sought-after workshop series around for youth who are interested in exploring and growing in the area of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math),” said Kimberly A. Moore, Vice President for Workforce Innovation and TCC2WORK. “The workshop series comprised of YouTube Creator, the Coding Academy and Roblox will provide youth an opportunity to learn a variety of cutting-edge skills that will drive their creativity and challenge them at the same time.”
Parents can choose a single workshop or create a mix of several workshop topics. To make it easy, the registration process has been automated. However, assistance can be provided if needed. The workshop registration is open now and the first Saturday workshops start on September 26.
The virtual workshops will be engaging and led by high energy instructors in LIVE classes! Participants will also benefit from small group breakout sessions where questions can be asked and answered while feeding their curiosity for learning. The workshops start at $159.
