Tallahassee Community College’s Division of Workforce Development has created workshops that will help businesses in their efforts to transition and succeed in the new remote environment. They’ve also created workshops for employees who are in need of assistance with gaining skills to succeed as a remote worker or land a job in a remote working environment.
The Remote Worker Certifications workshop series is live and interactive and designed to equip individuals with the skills needed to successfully transition into the new work environment. More than 60% of organizations across the country have encouraged or required their employees to work from home. Locally, there are a number of businesses who have transitioned a segment of their business or all of their business online as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. The skills gained from the workshops include but are not limited to time management, securing your home network, identifying remote access and telecommunication resources as well as tips on how to perform at your best in a new environment.
- Securing Your New Remote Work Environment will be held on Tuesday, July 7.
- Personal Tools to Successfully Work from Home will be held on Tuesday, July 14.
Each session will be conducted online using Zoom. In addition to receiving just-in-time tips for immediate use, experts will be available to address questions from the audience.
“The world of work has changed dramatically in a matter of months for both employers and employees,” said Kimberly A. Moore, VP for Workforce Innovation & TCC2WORK/Be Essential. “TCC is committed to making sure employers and employees have the skills they need to meet the challenge and embrace the opportunity that a remote environment brings.”
The College’s Division of Workforce Development is also hosting a Business Continuity workshop on Tuesday, July 21, 6 – 8 p.m. This 2-hour virtual workshop is specifically for businesses who need assistance with planning for their business operation to transition to a complete or hybrid remote work environment. Participating businesses will have an opportunity to hear from a subject-matter expert on how to take the stress out of the transition.
